Intermarket was retained by Downsview Park, the Canadian Forces Housing Association (CFHA), and the Department of Defence (DND) to create a customized residential plan that would meet the unique needs of Canada’s military families at Downsview Park.

Intermarket worked with several different Department of National Defence (DND) departments to define the key issues that would need to be included in a new housing project for the military.

Working with a team of consultants, Intermarket created a housing plan that was customized for military families yet was flexible enough to be integrated into the local neighbourhood.

In addition, the housing plan allowed families with a parent who was stationed overseas to draw upon the support of the other military families in this unique community. The development program met all the requirements outlined by DND and was accepted by the Canadian Forces Housing Association.
