Sportsworld Crossing

Intermarket negotiated with the Receiver, in competition with 103 other interested parties, to successfully purchase the Sportsworld property through bankruptcy proceedings. Intermarket then worked with an institutional investor to develop the site.

Intermarket created an innovative plan that integrated retail, office, recreational and green space uses, as well as a transit hub, into a fully integrated development. Intermarket worked with Regional and City staff, with input from three (3) local ratepayer groups in order to re-zone all of the lands.

Once zoning was completed, the focus shifted to incorporate high quality urban design and architecture with sustainable building practices; including LEED certification. The project has been extremely successful including winning a prestigious Urban Design award.
